My Businesses

The My Businesses page lists every business associated with your QLife Money account, with your role(s) in each and, for businesses with a bank account, a status badge.

Each row is a link to that business's own page. From here you can open a full QLife Money Business Account backed by Stripe Treasury, add a tracking-only business for expense and compliance monitoring without a bank account, or drill into an individual business to view its Stripe Connect accounts, financial account balances, and linked external bank accounts. With no businesses yet, the page prompts you to use either button.

How to

Add a tracking-only business

  1. On the My Businesses page, click '+ Add Business (tracking only)'.
  2. Enter the business name in the 'Business name:' prompt and click OK (an empty name is rejected).
  3. The new business appears in your list immediately and in the account switcher. You can attach a QLife Money bank account to it later from its detail page.

Open a QLife Money Business Account

  1. On the My Businesses page, click '+ Open Bank Account' (it opens the Open a QLife Money Business Account page).
  2. Complete the KYC consent and Stripe onboarding form on the Open a QLife Money Business Account page.
  3. After returning from Stripe, check the business detail page for account status.

View a business's accounts and balances

  1. On the My Businesses page, click any business row. It opens at its own address — /dashboard/business/?businessId=<id> — so you can bookmark it, reload it, or send the link to someone.
  2. Review Stripe Connect accounts, Platform Balance, Business Account (Stripe Treasury) balance, and any linked external accounts.
  3. If the business has no QLife Money business account yet, '+ Open a QLife Money Business Account' appears in the header. Once one is open, that button is replaced by 'Move money' — there is nothing left to open. To add another Stripe Connect account to this business, click '+ Open a QLife Money Business Account' on the detail page.

Find your routing and account numbers

  1. Open the business's detail page. Under its Business Checking balance you'll see the bank, routing number, and the last four digits of the account number.
  2. Click 'Copy' next to the routing number to copy it.
  3. Click 'Show' next to the account number to see the full number, then 'Copy' to copy it. Click 'Hide' to mask it again. Only owners and admins of the business see the Show button, and each time the full number is shown it's recorded in the business's audit log.
  4. Give these to customers who pay you by ACH or wire. A brand-new account's numbers take a few minutes to be issued.

Mark a business as a DBA of another entity

  1. Open the business's detail page and find the Tax Profile card.
  2. Under Tax treatment, choose 'Doing business as (DBA) — files under another entity'.
  3. Pick the entity that files its own tax return (the parent with the shared EIN) from 'Files under', then click 'Save profile'.
  4. From then on this business's income, deductions, assets, and liabilities roll up into the parent's tax return and balance sheet — it no longer appears as its own column in the Tax Center.

Reference

Status badge
Shown on a business row when it has a Stripe Connect account: 'Bank account open' (green), 'Stripe is verifying' (yellow), 'Stripe needs more info' (red), 'Application not finished', or 'Declined by Stripe' (red). Tracking-only businesses show no badge.
Tracking only
A business record created without a Stripe Connect or bank account. Used to track expenses, accounts, and compliance without opening a financial account.
Tax treatment — files its own return vs. DBA
How the business is handled at tax time. 'Files its own return' means it has its own EIN and tax return. 'DBA' (doing business as) means it is a trade name of another entity with the same EIN (e.g. QVegas under VGM LLC); its finances roll up into that parent entity's single return instead of a separate one.
Filing entity
The business that actually files a tax return. A DBA's filing entity is its parent; every other business is its own filing entity. The Tax Center and Balance Sheet show one column per filing entity, with any DBAs folded in.
EIN
The federal Employer Identification Number. Two businesses that share an EIN are the same legal entity for tax — one should be marked as a DBA of the other so their figures are not filed twice.
Stripe Account — Active / Restricted
Active means Stripe has enabled charges for the account. Restricted means the account has not yet completed verification or has limitations on charges.
Platform Balance
Funds held in the Stripe Connect account's available balance, separate from the Treasury financial account. Pending amounts are shown when present.
Routing number / account number
The bank details of your Business Checking account at Fifth Third Bank, N.A. — what customers need to send you money by ACH or wire. The full account number is shown only on request, only to owners and admins, and never sent by email.
Business Account
The Stripe Treasury financial account balance (cash available). Inbound pending and outbound pending amounts are shown when non-zero.
Linked account
An external bank account connected via a provider such as Plaid or entered manually. Displays institution name, last four digits, account subtype, and current balance when available.
Roles
Your role(s) in a business as recorded by the platform, shown beneath the business name as 'Roles: ...' (it reads Owner when none are recorded).
