Goals

The Goals page lets you set savings targets and debt-payoff goals and track progress toward each one through a manually updated current amount.

Every active goal is shown as a card with a labeled progress bar, a remaining-amount indicator, and quick access to edit or delete the goal. The page is personal-scope only and reads from and writes to your account's goals collection.

How to

Create a new goal

  1. Click '+ New goal' at the top right of the Goals header.
  2. In the modal, enter a Name for the goal (required).
  3. Select the Type: 'Savings target' or 'Debt payoff'.
  4. For a savings target, enter the Target amount. For a debt payoff goal, enter the Starting balance.
  5. Enter the Current progress (for savings: how much you have saved so far) or Current balance owed (for debt payoff: how much you currently owe).
  6. Optionally set a Target date and add Notes.
  7. Click 'Save'. The goal card appears on the page.

Edit an existing goal

  1. On the goal card, click 'Edit'.
  2. Update any fields in the modal — Name, Type, target or starting amount, current amount, target date, or notes.
  3. Click 'Save' to apply changes.

Update progress on a goal

  1. On the goal card, click 'Edit'.
  2. Change the 'Current progress' value (savings) or 'Current balance owed' value (debt payoff) to reflect your latest balance.
  3. Click 'Save'. The progress bar and remaining-amount figure update immediately.

Delete a goal

  1. On the goal card, click 'Delete'.
  2. Confirm the deletion when prompted. This action cannot be undone.
  3. The goal is removed from the page.

Reference

Goal Type
Determines how progress is calculated. 'Savings target' measures how much of the target amount has been saved. 'Debt payoff' measures how much has been paid down from the starting balance toward zero.
Target amount
For savings goals only: the dollar amount you are trying to accumulate.
Starting balance
For debt payoff goals only: the original balance of the debt when the goal was created, used as the baseline for progress calculation.
Current progress / Current balance owed
The value you update manually to reflect your current saved amount (savings) or current amount still owed (debt payoff). Drives the progress bar percentage.
Progress bar
A horizontal bar showing the percentage complete. Turns green when the goal reaches 100%. For savings goals the bar uses the goal's accent color until complete; for debt payoff goals the accent color is pink by default.
Remaining
For savings goals: the amount still needed to reach the target. For debt payoff goals: the current balance still owed.
Target date
An optional date by which you aim to reach the goal. Displayed on the card as 'by Mon YYYY'. Does not trigger automatic notifications.
Status
Goals with a status of 'archived' are hidden from the Goals page. All other goals (including those with no status set) are shown.
